Tearoom:

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and friendly full-time staff to work in our busy tearoom. Starting 1st of April to Mid-October.

We run a busy Tearoom offering seasonal, quality local produce and we are looking for Tearoom Assistants from the start of the season, 1st April until 18th October 2020.

As Tearoom Assistant you will be required to help with the following:

  • Help with food preparation
  • Welcoming and serving customers
  • Till operation
  • Cash Handling

Desired work experience:

  • To have worked previously in the catering industry
  • To have excellent customer service skills
  • To have experience with waiting and food prep.
  • To have previous restaurant/catering experience
  • To have a cheerful disposition and able to deal with customers in a polite and professional manner.

Normal working hours will be 5 days a week 9:15 am to 5:15 pm – with ½ hour for lunch. These hours may sometimes vary, with occasional work outside these hours sometimes required.

Training will be given where needed.

Duart Guide:

We are currently looking for an experienced guide for Duart Castle. Starting on the 1st of April through to mid-October.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Passionate about Scottish history
  • Knowledgable about the history of Clan Maclean, Duart Castle and the Maclean family
  • Friendly, outgoing and personable character
  • Confident speaking to and leading groups
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Cheerful disposition and able to deal with visitors in a polite and professional manner

Your tasks would include:

  • Welcoming and guiding visitors around the castle
  • Giving briefings to tour groups
  • Selling tickets to customers on entry to the castle
  • Cleaning and maintenance of display areas

Training will be given where needed.

Live in accommodation is available for the right candidate.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in history and culture to work with our customers at one of the oldest inhabited castles in Scotland.
